Awakening Enthusiasm: Navigating the Spectrum from Idleness to Liveliness

Idleness to Liveliness
Left: Calm reading under a tree, muted tones. Right: Joyful jump, vibrant confetti. Clear contrast of idleness and liveliness.

Idleness is a state where a person feels devoid of any energy and motion in their body. It is a feeling of laziness when one does not want to do any work and sits idly with no specific purpose or motto.

As we all say, “An idle mind is a devil’s workshop”.

Idle mind most of the time worsens the situation in one’s life as one will keep on thinking of something that may harm their present state of mind and will make them suffer both mentally and emotionally.

“An idle mind with enough time on their hands is far worse than a politician.”

Whereas, liveliness is just the opposite of idleness. A person with a lively mind is much more energetic and strong than one with an idle mind as their mind always thinks of the negative side of life without giving any preference to positivity.

Liveliness will make a person happy as well as capable enough to take certain positive decisions in one’s life. To make a life worthwhile one should definitely have a mind with a positive attitude and belief.

“Recipe for happiness: always do the thing that makes you feel most alive.”

I just want to share a story from my experience!

One day I saw a girl sitting under a tree and browsing her phone for nearly an hour.

I went near her and asked, “Why are you so busy on your phone that you don't even realize that it's about to get dark”?

She replied that “So what, my only work is to browse my phone and stay away from home so that my mother does not tell me to do any work”.

So, here I realized that just to keep herself away from household work she is sitting outside in the dark and browsing her phone just to pass the time. This is how an idle mind can destroy the mind with negative thoughts and intentions.

Again, one day I saw the same girl in the same place after almost 2 months, sitting under the same tree but this time the situation is different.

I went near her and asked, “What happen today you are not browsing your phone like that day”?

To my surprise, she replied, “No, I am sitting here thinking about what next I can do in my life to make my career so that I can make my parents proud one day”.

This reply of her astounded me as to how a girl who used to stay away from home has changed into one who wants to do something for her family.

This happened because she realized that sitting idly and doing nothing will destroy her life. So, she changed her positively and now she knows the motto of her life and is working hard to achieve that.

So, to conclude I want to say that this is how Idleness is different from Liveliness and what importance it holds in somebody's life can never be compared with anything else.
