Architectural Marvel Of Ayodhya Ram Mandir

In 2020, Larsen & Toubro began building the dream millions of Indians collectively had for centuries. Ram mandir is being constructed spanning three floors and covering approximately 2.7 acres of land depicting Lord Ram's life on the ground floor and his Darbaar on the first floor. This sacred place is set to stand tall at 161 feet. The temple’s features include intricate Nagara-style architecture which is inspired by Gurjara-Chalukya traditions, a massive 57400 sq. ft. built-up area, and lush green surroundings.

Nagara Style of architecture inspired by Gujara-Chalukya tradition was the inspiration for designing this holy shrine. Five mandapas, a shikhara, and ornate pillars create a majestic tapestry of Nagara architecture. Chandrakant Sompura is the chief architect behind the marvellous design of this holy shrine. He created the designs of this temple 30 years back. This Majestic temple is going to be 235 feet wide, 360 feet long, and 161 feet high making it the world’s 3rd largest Hindu temple. They built 40 pillars standing 30 feet tall, lighting the way to the temple called Surya Stambh adding a touch of uniqueness. These pillars are made of special fibre and reinforced concrete, adorned with ‘Jai Shree Ram’ inscription and motifs making it a visual delight. This echoes the timeless tradition observed during the construction of Ram Setu.

The holy shrine has a spiritual significance as the foundation of the temple was constructed using soil from 2587 sacred regions like Jhansi, Bithoori, Haldighati, Golden Temple etc. The structure of this temple is unique as there isn’t any iron or steel used for its construction. The entire temple is methodically constructed using Bansi Paharpur, a pink sandstone from Rajasthan, that will help this temple stand tall in its all glory for the next thousands of years. A unique feature of the temple includes a time capsule buried 2000 ft below the structure. This capsule contains a copper plate inscribed with relevant information about the temple, Lord Ram, and Ayodhya, ensuring the preservation of its identity for future generations.

The temple's consecration ceremony on January 22, 2024, will witness the inclusion of soil from Thailand, symbolizing international spiritual camaraderie and highlighting the universal resonance of Lord Ram's legacy. Reports reveal that the consecration ceremony held on August 5th incorporated holy water from 150 rivers across India, emphasizing the sacred connection with the nation's rivers.

Countdown to Consecration: January 22, 2024

As the temple is heading towards its Consecration, every Indian is waiting for the day when the temple will open its doors to the public. Prime Minister Modi is set to participate in this momentous installation of Lord Ram’s idol. Many dignitaries from across India have been invited to be part of this Historic event.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir is more than a structure; it’s a journey. With faith, architecture, and a promising future, it’s a beacon that'll shine for generations. As India eagerly waits for the grand inauguration, this temple stands as a testament to spirituality and a cultural marvel for the ages.
